Amy Taloma

DIRECTOR OF VIRGINIA AHEC & PROGRAMS

Prior to this position, Amy served as the Health Care Program Coordinator for the Community College Workforce Alliance, a partnership between Reynolds and Brightpoint Community Colleges, where she developed and implemented health care certification programs for adult learners. Previously, she built pipeline and academic enrichment programs to help students select and become competitive applicants for professional health science programs as the Assistant Director for the Division for Health Sciences Diversity at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Amy’s passion is creating and managing innovative initiatives that bolster the health care workforce, and in turn, improve health care throughout Virginia. She holds a Bachelor's of Arts from the University of Lynchburg and a Master's Degree in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently a PhD candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University, studying Urban Services Leadership within the School of Education. In her free time, Amy enjoys traveling to Virginia State Parks to kayak with her husband, two kids, and Boykin Spaniel.
