Lauren is a public health grant writer and health care project manager passionate about building organizational capacity to serve the most marginalized. Prior to this position, Lauren worked as lead population health strategist implementing Humana’s community health strategy in Virginia. Previously at the Virginia Hospital and Health Care Association as program manager, she developed the Virginia Maternal Health Collaborative to identify and improve clinical outcomes and decrease maternal health disparities among Virginia’s hospitals.
Lauren is a native Richmonder and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Public Health Policy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, where she was a Robertson Scholar. She received her Master of Public Health degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and is a certified project manager. She is a board member and current chair of the impact and evaluation committee of the Sacred Heart Center, a nonprofit focused on supporting Latino families in Virginia. Lauren is also a DONA International-trained labor and delivery doula. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and extended family.
